Metrix Learning Policies

April 2013

What are the qualifications?
To fully take advantage of the online courses provided through the Metrix Learning System, users should meet the following criteria prior to completing the registration:

  • Sufficient computer skills to navigate the application Web site and complete learning plans
  • Access to the internet via a high-speed connection (DSL, Cable, FiOS, etc.)
  • A computer with speakers, while not required, will enhance the experience because many courses have sound elements included
  • Adobe Flash Player and Java must be installed on computer to run the courseware

How does someone get access?
Customers will submit an online registration form which is reviewed by the Workforce Center for approval. Upon approval a customer will be issued a username, password and a Metrix Learning license. Please allow 2-3 business days for this process.

What is a Metrix Learning license?
Metrix Learning licenses grant access to either Medcom (Healthcare) or Skillsoft (Business/Desktop/IT) courses for the entire 90-day license period. Once a customer selects a learning provider and the Metrix Learning license is issued, the customer is unable to 'switch' learning providers.

When should a customer begin training?
Customers may begin training once they receive an email with their username and password. Customers must start 1 course from either the Medcom or the Skillsoft course catalog within the first 14-days of the license being issued. If at least 1 course is not started within the first 14 days the eTraining license will be deactivated.

What if a customer wants to continue training but their license expires?
Customers can request another license by submitting an email to [email protected]. The Workforce center will approve or deny the request based on funds available and customer’s activity in Metrix during the previous license duration.
